Employee Communications or Employee Benefit Statements:Watch - Collaborate - or DIY?
The Title implies well delineated boundaries between Watching us Work or Collaborating or Doing it Yourself. In truth, there is a mix. Even with the Traditional, full-service employee communications method there will be certain Tasks that we do not - and should not perform. A few simple, 'we cant's':
1) 'Pull' data directly from your system.2) Assume our work is perfect. Your Team must always confirm our work.3) Publish, print or otherwise Deliver the Employee Communications Project without your approval.
As a result, any Employee Communications Project is always Collaborative but - with the Traditional, Full Service approach, we do the great majority of the work.
After the first iteration - you may always choose to take over certain aspects of an Employee Communications Project. It's the initial 'set up' that is most difficult and is likely what led you to us in the first place.
You will always have full control.
Example:You decide to go forward with 2 Employee Communications Projects:
1) An Employee Benefit Statement2) An Employee Attitude Survey
We use the Traditional Approach for both Projects and fullfill all Requirements.
Iteration #2 of Employee Benefit statements, you choose to do all text updates + all Tables updates - but want us to Validate that all was correctly applied, queries are correct and that output is correct. In addition, you choose a local vendor to print the statements. We set up (with documentation) so that you can perform certain tasks DIY. New charges for this project are lowered.
Iteration #2 of Attitude Surveys, you want to do it all without any Validation. It is now 100% DIY & your charges are much lower.
Later, you add Employee Benefit Enrollment. We do all the work for the first iteration. Going forward, you choose to handle only the "New Hires & Updates" but have us continue the "Anuual Project.", including all printed materials. No problem.
This method allows you to maintain a relatively stable, year to year budget & continue to enhance your Employee Communications programs.
If you decide to move forward, each Team Member should read all 12 'Project Requirements'. They will be Your Requirements.
